Abstract(s)
No ensino superior português a ambientalização dos cursos é residual. Segundo a documentação consultada, ainda que existam instituições com modelos de gestão ambiental mais eficientes, verificam-se lacunas no âmbito das funções básicas: docência, investigação e extensão.
Tornou-se assim pertinente elaborar uma investigação, elegendo uma licenciatura (Enfermagem Veterinária) numa instituição de ensino superior (Escola Superior Agrária de Bragança – ESAB), com o objetivo de observar em que medida são incorporadas temáticas ambientais no ensino-aprendizagem.
Foram utilizadas fontes de informação primária e secundária. No âmbito da informação primária foram aplicados questionários aos alunos do 3º ano e ao corpo docente do curso e efetuadas entrevistas aos órgãos decisores, no ano letivo de 2011/12.
Do estudo concluiu-se que a ESAB é uma instituição amiga do ambiente quanto à gestão de recursos. Todavia, embora tenha assumido compromissos no âmbito da Educação para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável – EDS, não implementou ainda um plano de EDS ajustado aos conteúdos programáticos dos cursos.
A ambientalização curricular está presente no curso, situando-se a maior força na Coerência e Reconstrução entre Teoria e Prática e a maior debilidade na Ordem Disciplinar: Flexibilidade e Permeabilidade.
Biofísica foi a disciplina que mais se afastou das expectativas dos alunos, que não compreendem a importância da mesma para a sua formação nem a sua relação com as outras disciplinas do curso.
In the Portuguese higher education system the environmental awareness is residual. According to the research, even though there are institutions that include most efficient management models, there are still deficits in the basic functions: teaching, investigation and extension. Thus, became relevant develop a study to analyze a graduate degree (Veterinary Nursing) in a higher education institution (Agrarian Superior School of Bragança – ASSB), focusing on ways in which environmental topics have been integrated into the learning-teaching process. They were used primary and secondary information sources. In case of primary sources were applied surveys to 29 third year students, 16 of their teachers and six interviews to the decision making board of the institution, during the 2011/12 academic year. It was concluded that ASSB is an environmental friendly institution in matter of resources management. However, even though it has made progress on Environmental Education for Sustainability – EES, it has not an overall coherent plan for EES adjusted to the programmatic contents. Education for sustainability is present in the course, reaching the greatest force on Coherence and Reconstruction of Theory and Practice and the greatest weakness in the Disciplinary Order: Flexibility and Permeability. Biophysics was the discipline that most moved away from the students’ expectations. They don’t understand the relationship between this subject and the remaining subjects on their degree.
